The Sunday market in Bac Ha is where you’ll want to stock up on water buffalo, pigs and horses. Once you’re all set, you can browse for bottles of local firewater (made from rice, cassava or corn) or handicrafts made by some of the 10 Montagnard groups living near here - Flower Hmong, Dzao, Giay (Nhang), Han (Hoa), Xa Fang, Lachi, Nung, Phula, Thai and Thu Lao.
Night 1 - Saturday: Ha Noi – Lao Cai
Depart at 20.30pm from your hotel. Overnight on AC Soft Sleeper Hanoi - Lao Cai train.
Day 1 - Sunday: Lao Cai - Bac Ha (B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive to Bac Ha. Join in Bac Ha hill-tribe market and discover the daily life of Flower H'Mong, Red dzao people. After lunch, trekking about 5 km of mountain path to Ban Pho Village - home of Flower H'Mong people. Dinner at local restaurant.
Night 2 - Sunday: Overnight in a hotel Bac Ha Town
Day 2 - Monday: Bac Ha - whole day trekking and homestay (B, L, D)
After breakfast, trekking 10 km with lots of terrace fields, waterfalls and having a chance to witness how hard works are the hill tribes people. Picnic lunch and continue walking towards to Nam Thang village, home of Nung Hill Tribe. Get in touch with a Nung, get knowing the traditional life style, habits and customs. (Luggage, food will be carried along by local porters and horses).
Night 3 - Monday: Homestay in a Nung House
Day 3 - Tuesday: Bac Ha - Coc Ly - Lao Cai (B, L, D)
IAfter breakfast, take a car to Coc Ly and join in Coc Ly hill-tribe market. Boat trip on Chay River to Bao Nhai - visit hill-tribe villages of Nung, H'Mong, and Zdao people on the way. Picnic lunch then take a car to Lao Cai train station. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Night 4 - Tuesday: Overnight on train back to Hanoi
Day 4: Hanoi (B)
Arrive in Hanoi Railway Station early morning. Finishing tour.
