Trekking through a beautiful nature of the highest mountain in Vietnam. The climbs do not demand high technical skills of the climbers, but a certain level of co-ordination, fitness and endurance is essential before the rewarding view towards Laos and China is obtained.

Detailed itinerary

Night 1: HANOI - LAO CAI (Overnight on the Train) At 20:15. Hotel pick-up then transfer by taxi to Ha Noi railway station for a night train SP1 at 21:15 to LAO CAI station. Overnight stay on the Train

Day 1: LAO CAI - SAPA - FANSIPAN (B/L/D)
From Sapa we travel by jeep, stopping at Thac Bac (Silver Waterfall) before going through Tram Ton pass. From here we start our trek through the National Park and to the campsite situated at a level of 2,200 metres. The trek today goes both up and down hill - good preparation for the steep climb tomorrow. At the campsite a simple but hearty dinner is prepared by the porters and a local guide and we sleep overnight in a tent.

Day 2: FANSIPAN - PEAK - SAPA (B/L/D)
After a warm-up breakfast, it is time to conquer the Fansipan summit. The climb is steep and challenging. taking approximately 5 hours and reaching an elevation of 3,143 metres. At the peak ? the roof of Indochina ? there are rewarding views, even on cloudy days. There is a short break before starting trekking down to the campsite to collect our equipment and then a different route through the National Park to Sin Chai village where our jeep awaits to bring us back to Sapa town in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Sapa..

Day 3: SAPA - HANOI (B/L/-)
Free day to explore Sapa town. PM : Afternoon bus transfer to LaoCai railway station for night train back to Hanoi at 20:15

Day 1: Get started
At 20:15. Hotel pick up then taxi transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train at 21h15 to Laocai Station. Sleep on the train.( overnight on the Train )

Day 2 : Laocai -Sapa - Laochai - Tavan ( B, L)
Being picked up at Laocai Railway station early in the morning by local guide . Bus transfer uphill to Sapa centre.
8:00 AM. Have breakfast, taking a hot shower , relaxing then start trekking to visit a village of the Black H'mong. Go through hillsides along Muong Hoa Valley. Cross the river by a suspension bridge to reach LaoChai village. Take the paths across the paddy fields to head for the village of the Dzay minority (TaVan). Picnic lunch on the way. Jeep back to Sapa town and Overnight in the hotel in Sapa .

Day 3: Sapa - Bac Ha - Lao Cai( B, L)
At 7h30 AM. Check out the hotel then take the minibus to Bac Ha (arrive at 10.00 AM). At the marketday you have opportunities to meet local people from the remote villages in their traditional costumes. They are 4 different tribal groups Flower Hmong, Black Dzao, Tay and Phu La, in the afternoon spend 2 hour walk to visit Ban Pho - A Flower Hmong village which is located in scenic valley. Then BUS transfer back to Lao Cai railway station round 17h00 for the night train to Ha noi. End of services.

Breakfast at the hotel. A walk to Catcat village to visit the H'mong, the hydroelectric power station built by French people and Catcat waterfall. Walk back to Sapa and free to explore the town. In late afternoon, get on the bus to Laocai station for the night train to Hanoi (air-con. berth). The end of the tour.

Catcat - Laochai - Tavan homestay

Night 1 : Hanoi -Laocai ( Overnight on the train )

Day 2 : Laocai -Sapa - Laochai - Tavan Village
5 hours trekking 14 km, 2 villages. ( Overnight at Tavan village )

Picked up at Laocai Station early in the morning by our bus. Arrive at Sapa round 8:00 AM; Breakfast start at 10h30am to get to Laochai village. Enjoy the overall pictures of the villages among terraces. Visit the H'mong living in wooden and bamboo houses. Continue going to Tavan village to visit the Dzay minority. Stay the night in Tavan village at a Dzay family. Picnic lunch on the way and dinner at the home-stay.

Day 3 : TaVan -GiangTaChai ( 5 hours trekking, 14 km, 2 villages.)

Get up early in the morning to enjoy the daily life of the ethnic minorities in the village. Breakfast; take the road to GiangTaChai village of the Red Dzao minority via the paths between terraces and through bamboo forests. Visit silver waterfall and suspension Rattan Bridge, visit the people in the village and then cross MuongHoa River up to the mountain to visit the last village of the trek - Supan village of the H'mong. Get back to Sapa by jeep. On the way back, enjoy visiting the ancient stone circle where stones are decorated with ancient carvings. Check in hotel.

Day 4 : Catcat - Laocai - Hanoi. ( Overnight on the train )

Breakfast, visit village of the black H'mong (Catcat), walk around visiting people in the village and the hydroelectric power station built by the French in the old days. Back town have lunch and check out hotel, free to explore the town until take bus to get to Laocai Station for the night train back to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi around 5.00 AM. The end of the tour.

Day 2 : Sapa - Mantra - TaPhin village ( 4hour trekking, 2 villages. )

Take a jeep ride 5 km to the North East of Sapa. From here, take off jeep to visit Matra village of the H'mong people. After this village, do a 4-hour trek through the mountain and reach Taphin village - a handy craft traditional village of 2 different minorities: the Red Dzao and the Black H'mong. Mountains surround the village and the landscapes are beautiful. Have picnic lunch at village. In the afternoon, the jeep wait for you and take you back to Sapa. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Sapa - Laocai - Hanoi

Free to explore the town, go to the market by yourself. In the afternoon, take bus to Laocai Station for the night train to Hanoi (air-con. berth).

Day 1 (Saturday): CanCau - BacHa:

Picked up at Laocai Train Station to transfer to CanCau market. It takes more than 2 hours to get to CanCau - a small market situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and only 7 km from China. The market deeply shows the typical cultural features of the minorities in remote mountainous areas in Vietnam. Further more, you can enjoy seeing boys and girls in colourful costumes - different colours of the mountains. They attend the market in the hope of finding "the other halves of their lifves" and this is also the time for them to chat, to exchange everything among different ethnic peoples through cups of wine sold in the market. Say goodbye to the market and transfer to BacHa. On the way, spend time visiting a village of the Flower H'mong and then check in hotel in BacHa. Free to explore the town. Lunch in CanCau or in BacHa and dinner in BacHa.

Day 2 (Sunday): Visit BacHa market - Sapa town

Visit one village and an old building called The H'mong king's house. Breakfast and the beginning of the day on which you visit a big market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colourful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have chance to enjoy BacHa people's simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches... talking to the minorities through the guide's interpretation. Leave the market for the H'mong King's house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return the town for lunch. In the afternoon, spend time visiting another village (BanPho village) Say good bye to BacHa and get back to Sapa. On the way back, drop in to see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbor Mouth in LaoCai. Reach Sapa late in the afternoon. Check in hotel in Sapa

Day 3 (Monday): Sapa - Muonghoa valley - Tavan village

Check out hotel and start a trekking trip towards Muong Hoa valley to visit 4 villages of the H,mong, the Dzay people with around 17 km of trekking. Enjoy beautiful landscapes, terraced paddy fields. Discover the live of the people with different cultures. Have dinner and spend the night at the family.

Day 4 (Tuesday); Sapa - Cocly Market ( night train to Hanoi )

Leave from the village early at 6:30 AM for CocLy market, which is situated far from Sapa. Enjoy the peaceful life of 6 different minority peoples (Flower H'mong, Black Dzao, Tay, Dzay, HaNhi and Nung). The market is the chance for the minorities to meet and share joy and sorrows after the crops, to exchange one another's experience. Say goodbye to the market and get down onto a boat along Chay river. You are bound to feel great and find yourselves smaller among high rock mountains and to be surprised at white and breathtakingly waterfalls. The Fairy Cave is located deeply in the rocks. Get off the boat to visit a village of the Tay Minority (TrungDo village) by the river. After the boat trip, visit a small town - BaoNhai and then take jeep back to Laocai Station for the night train to Hanoi. Have dinner before getting on the train.

Arrive in Hanoi roughly 5:30 AM. The end of tour.

Have breakfast and leave the family for the next village. Visit the Red Dzao in Giang Ta Chai village by way of terraced paddy fields and bamboo forests. Enjoy the natural beauty of the Silver Waterfall and Rattan Bridge. Cross the river and continue to BanHo village where the Tay people reside. On the way, stop off to meet the Red Dzao and the Black H'mong people in Supan village. Picnic lunch en route. Dinner and home stay with a Tay family in BanHo village.

Day 3 : BanHo - Sapa trekking 3 hours trekking of 7 km and 23 km by jeep. ( B/L/D )
Breakfast with the family, then leave the village to see a spectacular waterfall discovered by the French. Enjoy the view, go swimming in the crystal-clear water and return to BanHo to visit the people in the village. Say goodbye to the family and return to the main road to take a jeep back to Sapa. Lunch and leave Sapa in the afternoon for Laocai by bus. Take the night train to Hanoi and have dinner on the train. Arrive in Hanoi round 5:00. End of services.

Day 1: Laocai - Ben Den - Trek from Ta Thang Village to Sin Chai B Village
Arrive in Lao cai around 6am. We meet our guide at the train station and have breakfast in local restaurant (Optional). After breakfast we will make an hour transfer to Ta Thang where we will begin our eight hours trek passing through bamboo forest and green jungle along some of the most remote trekking area of the north. We stop for lunch in the village of Nam Phang. After lunch we will head towards our homestay in Sin Chai B village of Red Dzao people. We may meet the Red Dao ethnic minority tending the fields or working in the forest on our way. There will be time to enjoy the beautiful scenic valley as we pass through. Day 2: Sin Chai B Village – Thanh Phu Village – Nam Nhiu - Nam Than - Nam Sai Village
Breakfast and leave Sin Chai B at about 08.00 am. Today’s adventure will take us through a number of small ethnic minority villages (including Red Dao, Tay, Xafo and Black H’mong). This portion of the trek offers stunning view of Nam Sai and Nam Cang Valleys as well as chances to understand life of tribal peoples in remote land. We will see people from the local communities carrying out their daily activities as it is in the northern highlands. Our trek will take us to our home stay for tonight in the Tay village - Nam Sai. Check in home-stay, having a short rest and enjoy an easy walk to explore this charming and quiet village.

Day 3: Nam Sai - Nam Sang - Nam Ngan - Ta Trung Ho
Following breakfast we will leave Nam Sai behind us and start to ascend to Nam Sang village of the Xa Pho people through Nam Sai valley. Paying visiting to local homes here for interesting discovery of the unique way of living. The Xa Pho is a sub group of the Phu La ethnic whose population is just about 4,000 in Vietnam and still live a primary way. Then following the same trail uphill for 1,5 hour through the forest to Nam Ngan Village of the Red Zao. Lunch break at the top of the mountain in the forest. After that challenging along a narrow dirt trail sneaking on steep hill sides through narrow & sharp canyon from the height of 950 m up to nearly 1,700m for the whole afternoon heading to Ta Trung Ho village of Red Dao where we will stay here for overnight.

Day 4: Ta Trung Ho – Nam Toong – Ban Ho – Sapa.
You are now at the fringe of the rain forest by the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina Peninsula with its 3143 m, is located in this mountain range. You will start the trek today by descending to Nam Toong village of Red Dao minority. Here your lunch will be prepared in a local house or in local school.
In the afternoon, before descending to Ban Ho, you can make a stop by a waterfall to refresh. Then where your car takes you on the journey back to Sapa.

Day 5: Sapa – Lao Cai – Night train to Hanoi
Breakfast in the hotel. Today you are free at leisure. You can walk to Ham Rong Park or stroll around in Sapa market. Check out hotel at 11.30 am. In the late afternoon we will take a bus ride to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi.

Day 6: Arrive in Hanoi – Trip completes
